Mr Andy Taylor - Acting Assistant Chief Constable (A/ACC) - Crime and Criminal Justice
Acting Assistant Chief Constable (A/ACC) Andy Taylor joined Thames Valley Police in 1982 and was posted to Milton Keynes.
He has spent much of his service in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and has served as a Detective at every rank. He has worked in uniform as a sergeant and inspector on the Aylesbury Vale rural sector and spent some time as one of the Force control room inspectors.
Andy has also been the Force intelligence manager, scientific support manager and a senior investigating officer on the Major Crime Unit.
In 2007, Andy was temporarily posted as the Commander of the Milton Keynes Basic Command Unit (BCU) and was promoted to Detective Chief Superintendent in 2008 where he oversaw all major investigations, forensic activity, the Force Intelligence Bureau and the specialist units tackling serious and organised crime.
