Alan Baldwin - Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) - Crime and Counter Terrorism
Alan Baldwin is the Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) with the following responsibilities:
- The county of Oxfordshire, comprising the local police areas of Oxford, Cherwell, South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse, and West Oxfordshire.
- The crime portfolio for the Force, including criminal investigations, protecting vulnerable people, intelligence, and specialist operations.
- The counter terrorism portfolio, which includes the management of the South East Counter Terrorism Unit (SECTU).
Alan Baldwin has been with Thames Valley Police since 2008. He has held the posts of Basic Command Unit (BCU) commander at Milton Keynes and Head of Crime and Head of Tasking and Resilience. Alan has 25 years in policing having worked in three other police forces – the Ministry of Defence Police, West Mercia Constabulary and the Metropolitan Police Service.
Alan has spent half of his career in the uniform operations side of the business and the other half as a detective. Alan is from Aylesbury and is proud to serve in his home Force to detect and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour impacting upon local people.
