Assistant Chief Constable Alan Baldwin
Alan Baldwin – Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) – Neighbourhood Policing and Partnerships
Alan joined the Chief Constable’s Management Team on 12 May 2014 as ACC for Neighbourhood Policing and Partnerships, having joined Thames Valley Police in 2008. His previous roles with the Force have included Head of Tasking and Resilience, BCU Commander for Milton Keynes and a period as Acting ACC responsible for Crime and Counter Terrorism.
In his new role, Alan will be responsible for Criminal Justice, Neighbourhood Policing and Partnerships and the Force Control Rooms and Enquiries Department. He will also lead local policing for Buckinghamshire.
Alan was born and bred in Aylesbury and joined the police in 1987 after leaving Aylesbury Grammar School.
In the 27 years since he started his career with Ministry of Defence Police, Alan has worked for West Mercia Police and the Metropolitan Police, before joining Thames Valley Police as Area Commander for Milton Keynes. He has spent half of his career as a detective and half in uniform roles.
In his new role, Alan’s time will be split across the three counties of the Thames Valley.
He has lived most of his life in Buckinghamshire with his family and in his spare time he enjoys keeping fit, running and cycling. Although Alan has now hung up his football boots having played for a number of local teams for many years he continues to coach a youth team in Milton Keynes.
