Brian Langston was appointed ACC for Operations in April 2008.

He has been with Thames Valley Police since 1980, when he left Wolverhampton to join the Force as a PC at Aylesbury.

Brian moved to Slough as a sergeant in 1985 and worked his way up the ranks in both uniform and Criminal Investigation Department. He has served in all three Thames Valley counties.

In 1999, he became the strategic adviser to the Chief Constable on community and race relations, following the publication of the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry.

He was promoted to Superintendent Operations at Slough and then, in 2004, he became the first Commander for the newly-created Berkshire East Basic Command Unit.

Brian is the founder and president of the Thames Valley Black Police Association. He has been a member of the National Executive Committee of the Police Superintendents’ Association and chair of the Thames Valley branch.
