Thames Valley Police is the lead authority for Chiltern Transport Consortium, providing an innovative cross-border shared service which attends to the fleet requirements of Bedfordshire Police, Civil Nuclear Constabulary, Hertfordshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police.
The Consortium currently manages in excess of 2,300 vehicles and operates from a main office in Bicester with workshops in Bicester, Aylesbury, Sulhamstead, Kempston and Welwyn Garden City.
Sam Sloan joined Thames Valley Police as Head of Chiltern Transport Consortium in April 2011. He previously held fleet management positions within British Bakeries and Strathclyde Police. Prior to joining Thames Valley, he was Head of Fleet for Hertfordshire Constabulary. Sam was made a Fellow of The Institute of Car Fleet Management in 1997.
Sam is responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day management of the Consortium and provides professional leadership and guidance on all aspects of fleet provision for the member forces.
