The department prepares tenders, drafts terms, evaluates offers, identifies best value solutions, and manages the contracts once they have been awarded and put into action.
Thames Valley Police’s Contracts Department is actively engaged in collaborative procurement partnerships with other police forces. It also makes use of contracts managed by other organisations - i.e. other police forces, and the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA). We are the lead police force for numerous contract initiatives, including those at regional and national levels.
