Both aircraft are fitted with the latest digital communications systems using the emergency service ‘Airwave’ system.

This versatile equipment allows the crew to be in contact with all relevant police and other emergency service control rooms as well as allowing contact with individual officers and other agencies.

The system gives the helicopter crew an unrivalled position as a local control and communications platform while they are at an incident. A wide variety of resources can be directed efficiently while control rooms are kept updated of the progress.
