Safer Streets

Safer Streets is Thames Valley Police’s leading public campaign. It aims to make it safer to live and socialise in Thames Valley.

Safer Streets focuses on tackling five key problems, which are outlined under each heading below. Click on a heading below for more information about how police are dealing with the problem.

Tackling anti-social behaviour - Operation Confidence
Operation Confidence is a concerted effort to address crime and disorder and highlight what Thames Valley Police, its partners and local residents are doing to make communities safer.

Tackling alcohol-related crime – Know Your Limits
Know Your Limits seeks to reduce alcohol-related violence and crime associated with drinking too much alcohol.

Tackling knife crime – Operation Blunt
Operation Blunt focuses on tackling knife crime, challenging the knife crime culture, and reducing the number of people who carry knives on our streets.

Tackling robbery – Operation Robbery
Operation Robbery is all about catching robbery offenders and reducing the number of victims of robbery.

Tackling replica firearms
This strand of Safer Streets aims to reduce the possession and use of replica or ‘imitation’ firearms.
