Neighbourhood Watch
Please consider joining your local Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (NHWN).
The Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (NHWN) is all about people getting together with their neighbours to take action to cut local crime and disorder.
NHWN is the name for the recently-established group of regional Neighbourhood and Home Watch representatives who meet at national level from across England and Wales.
How does NHWN work?
Neighbourhood and Home Watch schemes are community initiatives owned and run by their members. They work by developing close liaison between neighbourhood households and the local police. It is an active partnership.
Neighbourhood and Home Watch schemes can:
- Cut crime and the opportunities for crime.
- Help and reassure those who live in the area.
- Encourage neighbourliness and closer communities.
Visit the Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (NHWN) website (opens new window) or visit the official Home Office Neighbourhood Watch website (opens new window) for information on how these schemes work, their benefits, running a scheme in your area and more.
