Police Armed Forces Families Association (PAFFA)

The Police Armed Forces Families Association (PAFFA) supports Thames Valley Police personnel who have family or friends serving in the British Armed Forces.

PAFFA aims to:

  • Informally support Thames Valley Police officers and staff who have relatives, spouses, partners and friends serving in the British Armed Forces.
  • Raise awareness both within and outside of the police service of issues involved for such officers and staff.
  • Raise funds for appropriate and related charitable causes.

PAFFA is the brainchild of Thames Valley Police training officer Margaret Hooke and her husband Bob, who recently retired after 30 years with the Force. They have a son and daughter who are serving in the Armed Forces.

In 2008, PAFFA raised money for two military charities – Yellow Ribbon, and Help for Heroes. They also sent out gift box items via RAF Brize Norton to Iraq and Afghanistan. PAFFA’s patron is the Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police.
