The competition was fierce but I think we have selected some deserving winners who are carrying out vital work in our neighbourhoods in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. I would like to thank everyone who voted in this year’s awards."

Sponsored by Ian and Caroline Laing, the Community Policing Awards is now in its ninth year. The competition ran between 12 March and 16 April.

ACC Rowell added: "Strengthening neighbourhood policing so that it better responds to local needs and improves public confidence remains a key objective for Thames Valley Police, and all those nominated for an award have made an outstanding contribution towards that aim."
