Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

1. Burglary – to concentrate on reducing incidents by high visibility and crime prevention in the North Hinksey/Cumnor/Kennington and Appleton areas due to a recent spate of burglaries to dwellings and businesses.
2. Metal Theft – due to the current price of scrap metal rural areas are being targeted in particular churches and schools. High visibility patrols are taking place so are crime reduction visits in order to reduce this trend.
3. Speeding – Drayton, Sutton Courtenay, and Cumnor Hill. NAG5 are dealing with the issue through a school poster campaign and both NAG 5 and 6 are making use of the SID to gather evidence for enforcement.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
