Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) - This is occurring on Taylor Road and the surrounding roads most evenings. We have increased the number of patrols conducted in these areas. A number of individuals have been given Red and Yellow Cards for causing this type of behaviour and letters have been sent to parents’ addresses advising them of their children’s behaviour and that this can potentially affect their tenancy. Two individuals have signed Anti – Social Behaviour Contracts. The neighbourhood team are in consultation with the council regarding the anti social behaviour.
  2. Parking - The main issue is happening along Winterton Drive and Kynaston Avenue. This is mostly occurring in the day time and is in relation to people visiting the hospital and parking there. Cars are being parked on both sides of the road making it difficult for residents to get in and out of their houses. We are currently working in partnership with local council to work on resolving this problem. The council and Highway Agency are currently in the process of applying for budget and planning to put in measures to counteract this issue. Last month over 30 fixed penalty notices for tickets were issued for parking obstructions. These include blocking dropped kerbs and parking, causing obstructions on bends.
  3. Theft from Vehicle – There is a high level of vehicles being broken into on the Aylesbury South area. This is occurring overnight. The neighbourhood teams have increased patrols around the area and are conducting leaflet drops giving crime prevention to residents.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
