Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

1.Traffic Related Issues – Roads that have been identified as a priority are Bicester Road, Buckingham Road, Arncott Way and Coldharbour.  There have been 2 speed enforcement operations and we will continue to work with the local council, using a speed indicator device (SID).  We now have a designated traffic officer for the area and more speed enforcement operations are being planned for targeted areas.  Coldharbour Parish Council have invested money in obtaining their own Speed Indicator Device which gets moved about  to highlight specified locations which will be addressed by the Neighbourhood Team/Traffic Officers.

2.Drug Related Issues  - Areas that have been identified as a priority are Somerville Way, Belgrave Road, Grafton Road and Mitcham Walk.  These areas will be targeted by the Neighbourhood Team and will work closely with other agencies to tackle these issues. A plain clothes operation has been carried out on areas that have been highlighted and a number of people have been stopped, searched and arrests have been made.  We will continue to carry out these operations at strategic dates and times.

3.Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) Fairford Leys – There is ongoing issues around the Community Centre, Band Stand, Parks and communal locations throughout Fairford Leys in relation to young males hanging around, being verbally abusive and intimidating.   The Neighbourhood Team have continued to  carry out hi visibility patrols and have been dealing robustly with individuals.  A number of youths have been dealt with and the issues appear to be alleviating

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
