Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

1. Drug Usage - There has been a rise in the use of Methadrone (MCAT) in the Buckingham area which is being supplied especially to the youths of the town. The team are actively working on who is supplying the young people, gathering intelligence on who is dealing, when and where locations flagged. Warrants have been executed and arrests have been made.

2. Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB / Noise) - This issue was raised at the NAG (Neighbourhood Action Group) and was to include  noise issues when people are walking home after a night in the town drinking, as the sound travels across the old town causing disturbance to the residents. The Town Council are installing sound equipment in the town to monitor noise levels.

3. Burglary to dwellings - This is still also a team priority although we have had a drop in the reported incidents for this month (from 4 offences down to 1). Burglary patrols are ongoing as part of our daily patrols and both reactive officers and neighbourhood officers are conducting patrols on a daily basis to ensure that any addresses that appear vulnerable are visited and advice given.  Look out for the team who will be out and about offering crime prevention advice regarding protecting your home.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
