Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Road Safety Issues - Parking issues outside the schools within the Buckingham area continue to be monitored by the team, if you have to drive your child to school please be considerate where you park your vehicle and do not obstruct driveways or park close to junctions, officers will be dealing robustly with any offending motorists.  Speeding Complaints.  Officers are conducting speed checks in the following areas: Little Tingewick, Westbury, and Hillesdon Road, Gawcott these have been highlighted by NAG members as to be problem areas and the team will be out checking these locations in the next month. More speed operations are planned for the area. If you feel that you have a problem in your area please contact the team.
  2. Crime Priorities (Burglary dwelling, and non dwelling, vehicle crime and farm thefts) - The town has had an increase in the reports of theft from motor vehicles especially around the Badgers Estate and the Gawcott Road area of the Town. In response to this dedicated taskings have been created to ensure that there are mobile police patrols in the area, as well as foot and cycle patrols. We are asking all residents and visitors to be aware of this recent spate of thefts and ask that no items are left on show in vehicles. Even a jacket or gym bag can attract the thief.
  3. Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) - Officers in the town have been dealing with reports of Anti-social behaviour in the Candleford court area. The housing trust is working alongside the team to reach a suitable conclusion.  The previously reported issues in Turweston play area appear to have abated since the last report; the team continue to monitor the location. If you have any concerns regarding any of the areas priorities please feel free to contact your local Police team.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
