Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Drug Usage  - The issue of drug supply and use within Buckingham and surrounding villages continues to be the team’s top priority. As a result of intelligence gained by the team there have been further arrests made in relation to the supply of controlled substances in the Buckingham area. A number of offenders remain on police bail whilst investigations progress.
  2. Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB / Noise). - As the nice weather descends upon us, the longer spring and summer evenings can and should be enjoyed by everyone. Unfortunately some see this as an opportunity to attend local parks, cause damage, litter, drink heavily and make high levels of noise in to the early hours. These incidents are reported to the team via the Neighbourhood Action Group, phone calls from concerned parents, residents and members of the public who are out trying to enjoy the area. The team and partner agencies are continuing to address all such calls regarding ASB and will be utilising powers available to them.
  3. Burglary to dwellings  - Burglary to people’s homes remains one of the team’s top priorities and continued patrols are conducted by both members of the Buckingham District Neighbourhood Team and response officers from the area. Although reports of this nature remain fairly low, it is one of the most impactive crimes to happen and as such will remain a priority. Please remain vigilant and report all suspicious activity to police on 101.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
