Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Burglary dwelling - We have had six burglaries this month.  Four have had persons arrested and stolen property has been recovered. One suspect has been charged and remanded for three of the offences as mentioned and the other burglary has had a suspect arrested and put on police bail whilst further enquiries are carried out. Both reactive officers and Neighbourhood officers are conducting burglary patrols on a daily basis. If you see a member of the team please come and have a chat. We will happily give you any advice on home security. Please report any suspicious activity seen and help us prevent burglaries and catch the offenders.
  2. Theft from motor vehicle (TFMV)  - We have had a total of seven TFMV’s this month across the area. They are not all in scenic areas as in previous months. We have had a few thefts of front and rear number plates, if this happens to you please report it to us as they may be used in crime. Also you can fit anti theft screws to help prevent this, order them online or ask a local officer. A few of the thefts have been from workmen’s vans where they have left the cabs open at work and persons have lent in and stolen wallets and personal effects, please lock you vehicles whilst you are working. Most importantly please report suspicious people and vehicles noting the make/model of the vehicle and registration numbers where this is possible, it’s better if we can catch them in the act or before they commit the crime as witnesses etc are hard to find in these locations.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
