Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Burglary Dwelling - Burglary is one of the most devastating crimes committed against the public because our homes should be our place of safety. We will always strive on the team to prevent, reduce and detect burglary. Our figures are looking good at the moment as we have been working hard on this, as you will see from the crime statistics section, but we will not rest on our laurels and will keep the focus on protecting our communities from such harm in the coming month.
  2. Theft from vehicle - With the warm weather coming in nicely over the last few weeks we have ramped up our visibility in the local hotspots where opportunist thefts take advantage of vehicles being left in remote locations. We aim to continue our efforts to reduce the amount of this kind of offending across our neighbourhood.
  3. Speeding - This month we have been out in force in many of our villages. Hopefully none of you were stopped for speeding! The data that the Speedwatch teams have been feeding in to us has caused us to pay particular attention to the areas of Stoke Hammond, Stewkley, Soulbury, Northall, Great Gap and Aston Abbots. Watch out for us in other villages throughout the district next month!

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
