Super-secure tractor
Last year in England and Wales, 1,975 tractors and other agricultural vehicles were stolen, costing NFU Mutual in excess of £10million.
Anyone who owns an agricultural or plant vehicle should do all they can to protect it. This message is behind the introduction of a Force tractor (pictured) which has the latest security technology onboard.
This super-secure tractor, which has been loaned to us by John Deere (opens new window) and Farol Ltd (opens new window), is also supported by the NFU Mutual (opens new window) and Eurosigns (opens new window). It has been fitted with a number of security devices to help protect the £70,000 machine.
The John Deere 6930 Premium tractor has been fitted with an electronic immobiliser which requires a unique four-digit number to be typed in to allow the tractor to be started. The tractor has been microchipped and Datatags have been applied to give the tractor unique product identification. A TRACKER (opens new window) has also been installed to allow the vehicle to be tracked and recovered if it is stolen. All of these features can reduce insurance premiums.
- For a limited period, we can offer a 20% discount on the fitting of the CESAR (opens new window) passive security system which has proven to be very successful in reducing thefts of both commercial and agricultural plant equipment. If you’re interested in benefiting from the scheme, apply online at Datatag (opens new window) or call them direct on 01932 895304.
The tractor is set to tour major rural events across the Thames Valley this summer – visit this page again for updates on where it’s going to be and when.
If you have any questions about the tractor or would like to send in your comments, please email the tractor team.
