Crime-free Christmas
Please consider the crime prevention advice below to make sure that you have a Christmas that's free from crime.
- Make sure that all windows and doors are locked.
- Keep Christmas presents out of sight. If they can be seen, they can be stolen.
- Don’t leave presents inside your car. Thieves look in glove compartments first for valuable items – take them with you.
- Register the electronic gifts you get for Christmas at Immobilise (opens new window). This includes mobile phones, satellite navigation systems (‘sat nav’), and MP3 players.
- Consider joining your local Neighourhood and Home Watch scheme or starting one yourself.
- Sign up to Thames Valley Police’s Community Messaging service to receive crime alerts for your neighbourhood.
Thames Valley Police has produced a Christmas crime menu which gives you more crime prevention tips to put into action ready for the festive period.
Have a happy and safe Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
