Thames Valley Police officers are continuing to carry out a forensic investigation at a residential property in Ascot, Berkshire, where the body of 67-year-old Russian national Boris Berezovsky was found on Saturday (23/3).
Mr Berezovsky’s body was removed from the property in Mill Lane overnight and a post-mortem examination will be carried out by a Home Office pathologist this afternoon (25/3). It was due to start at 1pm and the results are not expected until later this evening.
Det Ch Insp Kevin Brown, Deputy Senior Investigating Officer, said: “Scenes of Crime Officers are carrying out further forensic examinations at the property and these are expected to last several days.
“A cordon will remain in place until this work has been completed, to protect the scene.
“While this important investigative work continues, we are unable to comment on any items found within the property.
“I would like to reiterate that we have no evidence of any third-party involvement at this stage and we will not speculate on the cause of death until the post-mortem examination has been carried out.”
