London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Eton College Rowing Centre at Dorney Lake near Windsor is the venue for the rowing and canoe sprint events in the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Thames Valley Police is working closely with partners to ensure the safety of participants and spectators at these events and minimise any disruption to the lives of local residents, businesses and commuters.
Dorney Lake is a modern world-class rowing and flat-water canoeing centre set in a 450-acre parkland near Windsor in Berkshire.
A national safety and security operation will be delivered by the UK police service to ensure a safe, secure and resilient London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Thames Valley Police has been involved in the planning and consultation process over the past two-and-a-half years.
Many agencies are also involved in making sure the Games are safe and secure, including the Olympic Delivery Authority and the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and the other emergency services.
The Dorney Lake events (opens new window) are scheduled as follows:
- 2012 Olympic Rowing - Saturday 28 July to Saturday 4 August
- 2012 Olympic Canoe Sprint - Monday 6 August to Saturday 11 August
- 2012 Paralympic Rowing - Friday 31 August to Sunday 2 September
