Hello and welcome, to our Reading Festival microsite.

Did you know that Reading Festival began in 1961 in a Surrey field? Acts included the likes of Tubby Hayes and the Clyde Valley Stompers. Ten years later, it moved to Reading – where it’s been ever since. In that year, Wishbone Ash, Lindisfarne, Rory Gallagher, and Medicine Head were there (ask your parents all about them).

We aim to make Reading Festival enjoyable for all, by making it as safe and crime-free as possible.

Reading Festival 2010 will be held over the weekend of 27 to 29 August, and planning for the event is well underway. We’ll use this site to provide advice for everyone coming to Reading Festival, as well as guidance to reassure your parents.
