Death in Jubilee River - Slough
Wednesday 31 July 2013, 11:31am
Thames Valley Police was last night (30/7) called to Wood Lane in Cippenham, to reports that a young boy had gone into the river.
At about 8pm, the 12-year-old got into trouble in the Jubilee River. A full search was launched to find him, but his body was discovered shortly after midnight.
Investigating officer Det Sgt Lucy Deane from Slough Force CID said: “Our thoughts go out to the family of this young boy, who has become the victim of what appears to be a tragic accident.
“The incident is being thoroughly investigated, but we do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.
“I also would like to emphasise that although it might be tempting to jump in the river when the weather is warm, there are often hidden dangers under the water and so we would advise against doing so.”
