Appeal for witnesses after disorder - Oxford

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information after an incident of disorder in Oxford last night (16/6).

At around 10.50pm, police were called to reports of an assault in Mercury Road in Blackbird Leys.

A 31-year-old woman sustained minor bruising. She did not require hospital treatment.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed until 19 September.

Det Con Peter Warne  Force CID in Oxford said: “We would like to speak to anyone who can help to identify those people involved in this incident. It is not yet clear how many people were involved in this incident and whether there were other related disorders prior to the assault.

“If anyone has any information, please contact me via the 101 number.”

One of the offenders was mixed race, aged between 20 and 25 years, around 5ft 6ins tall, of large build, with short shaved hair. He was wearing a light-coloured t-shirt.

Three cars were damaged during the incident.
