Speed cameras

Speed cameras are being used and are working in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

These cameras, operated by Thames Valley Police, provide protection for drivers, other road users and pedestrians, and reassurance for communities. Ultimately, they aim to reduce road casualties.

Speed and red light enforcement cameras have been used in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire since 1992. There are currently approximately 291 fixed camera installations, 21 red light camera installations, and 242 mobile camera locations the number of which is subject to change. Types of speed enforcement camera include: gatso cameras, truvelo cameras, average speed cameras, plus red light enforcement cameras.

The document includes a data sheet for each fixed camera site detailing the number of prosecutions for 2010, collision history, casualty history and any available speed data for each site.
