Buckingham South neighbourhood

Local priorities

After consultation with the communities in the neighbourhood, the following priorities were identified:

  1. Anti-social behaviour. Young people get drunk and misuse cars by high revving, tyre squealing and handbrake turns around Winslow, Steeple Claydon and Newton Longville.
  2. Countryside crime. Theft of saddlery - generators, diesel, horseboxes and trailers, large plant and machinery. This is a national problem not confined to Thames Valley Police only.
  3. Speeding. There is a general concern that motorists exceed speed limits on Whaddon Road, Newton Longville, Buckingham Road and Steeple Claydon Granborough Road.

Neighbourhood Action Group

These issues are now being tackled by the Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) made up of local residents and partner organisations.
