Chipping Norton neighbourhood

Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Anti-Social Behaviour.   Chipping Norton in the Hailey Road area where groups of youths gather during the evenings, especially at weekends.    Milton-Under-Wychwood in the Shipton Road / Elm Grove area where youths gather at the weekends.    Charlbury in the 5-Ways store area of Sturt Road / Sturt Close and Hughes Close where minor ASB and Criminal Damage are caused during the evenings.
  2. Speeding.   Chipping Norton on the A44 London Road, Horsefair, New Street and Worcester Road at various times, especially evenings.     Charlbury on the Forrest Road, most of the time however during the morning commuter and school drop off times there is a marked increase of vehicles speeding into Charlbury.
  3. Metal and Fuel Thefts.   Occurring at vulnerable sites (both urban and rural) including empty dwellings and offices.   Farms and domestic bulk oil containers have also fallen victim to crime recently especially in the outlying villages.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
