Wantage East neighbourhood
Local priorities
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
- Rural Crime. There is theft of plant and diesel from farm outbuildings. There are also thefts of Landover and 4x4 vehicles.
- Hare coursing and poaching offences. Offenders from all over the country come into the area between the months of September and March to commit hare coursing and poaching offences. In the process they commit criminal damage and public order offences against land owners and gamekeepers.
- Speeding. Locations have been identified where motorists regularly exceed speed limits; causing concern amongst residents.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
