Meadowcroft / Gatehouse neighbourhood

Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

1. Cromwell Avenue/Whaddon Chase Service Road. The Cromwell Avenue/Whaddon Chase Service road covers a large area of land running to the rear of properties on the streets. It consists of a rough concrete area with a number of garages. The profile has been identified by residents and the NHPT due to the overall appearance of the service road, the community safety risk it poses and its perceived effect upon criminality within the local area. A number of issues relating to the road have been identified including; anti-social behaviour, arson, fly-tipping, drug use, drug dealing and environmental problems. The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be working closely with its partner agencies in order to characterise and address this priority
2. Speeding.  The roads identified by the NAG (Neighbourhood Action Group) as problem roads are Bicester Road and Buckingham Road. Neighbourhood officers have been carrying out speed enforcement on the highlighted roads in order to indentify and access the extent of the issue. Further to this we are looking to provide Road Safety talks to the Community’s Schools within the coming months. These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
