Walton Court / Hawkslade neighbourhood

Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Young people with aggressive dogs off leads in and around Walton Court play park and fields - there has been an increasing concern about young people with dogs that appear to be aggressive, not being on leads, who are encouraging them to fight other dogs. This is happening in the Walton Court park area, and also surrounding fields. The RSPCA have been invited to the next meeting to give information and advice regarding aggressive dogs and how to report them.
  2. Vehicles Speeding on Orwell Drive and Anton Way Hawkslade - there has been a concern raised about vehicles including busses speeding in Hawkslade, particularly on Orwell Drive and Anton Way, but also vehicles cutting corners on other roads on the estate. The noise from the speeding vehicles is also an issue for example loud exhausts. The Nag has been looking into the use of trevello strips for this area, and the roads policing team have been doing speed checks over the Christmas period.
  3. Anti-Social behaviour (ASB) in the evenings on Walton Court & Hawkslade - this is general ASB in relation to local young people hanging around mainly in the evening times causing minor problems.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
