Wendover / Aston Clinton neighbourhood

Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Crime Priorities. The Wendover and Aston Clinton neighbourhood has experienced a general increase in burglary and auto crime offences. These do fluctuate from month to month. Offences that the area has been suffering from include sheds broken into and business premises. There have also been some houses broken into.  Many of the vehicles that have been broken into are vehicles that have been parked in rural isolated spots with valuables left on view. The team together with CID, other neighbourhoods and other specialist departments are working together to reduce such offences.
  2. Anti Social Behaviour (ASB). The main ASB issues in the Wendover and Aston Clinton Neighbourhood involve young people in the Wendover area congregating in various locations including Tring Road, Wharf Road and in various parks close to residential housing. Reports include making noise, leaving litter, shouting and intimidating others and low level criminal damage.  Together with our partner agencies the team are working to tackle these issues, patrolling the area key area and dealing with those involved in ASB in a robust fashion.
  3. Road safety Issues. We have had reports of speeding in various locations around the Wendover & Aston Clinton Neighbourhood.  These include Aylesbury Road in Wendover. Lower Icknield Road, London Road and Aylesbury Road in Aston Clinton. Brook End and Worlds End Lane in Weston Turville and Station Road in Stoke Mandeville. We will be conducting speed check operations utilising advice and enforcement action.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
