Wing North neighbourhood

Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Road Safety Issues.  There are concerns around vehicles speeding through all the villages across the Wing North area. This has been highlighted when ever we attend the Neighbourhood Action Group meetings that are linked in with the parish council meetings. Numerous speed check operations have been and will continue to be conducted across the le of the area. Fixed penalty notices will be issued as appropriate to offending drivers.
  2. Crime Priorities.  The Wing North area has been experiencing general increases in burglary non dwelling and vehicle crime. This can however fluctuate from month to month. Incidents include breaks to business premises and sheds across the neighbourhood and generally theft from and on occasion theft of vehicles. The Wing North Neighbourhood Team with the assistance of officers from other Neighbourhoods, priority crime team and Roads Policing have been taking part in operations to specifically target these types of crimes. Apart from the ongoing operations offenders will be also be targeted and hot spot areas regularly patrolled.
  3. Anti Social Behaviour. On the Wing North area we are fortunate enough to not have any serious anti social behavioural problems. This is not to say that it does not crop up from time to time. We understand that it can cause stress to people and we have been very pro-active in dealing with any reports. To this end we have been able to   resolve any problems and make sure that they are short lived. We will be monitoring any areas subject to Anti Social Behaviour and also known areas that have been historically subject to this problem. We will use available legislation against any persons engaging in this type of behaviour and where necessary deal rigorously with any persistent offenders.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
