Chesham East neighbourhood

Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Burglary Dwelling.   Due to the general success in detecting drug crime, a re-evalution of neighbourhood priorities has revealed a spike in serious acquisitive crime. Crimes such as dwelling burglary can be hugely impact on the victim and needs to be treated as a priority. The whole neighbourhood team works tirelessly against a host of varied crime, but patrols are now targeted specifically towards burglary, be it looking at suspects or areas more at risk. Burglary has been a priority in the past that we are now revisiting to ensure it is managed as effectively as possible in our community.
  2. Vehicle Crime   Chesham East is suffering from a spate of theft from vehicles, with criminals targeting unattended vehicles, usually when goods have been left on display. A clear car campaign is still running in Chesham, advising motorists not to leave valuables on display, even on quick stops to the local shops or visiting the gym facilities. Dark unattended car parks tend to be the favoured haunt of such criminals. Patrols will be maintained by the Neighbourhood Policing Team to deter this type of crime in the coming months.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
