Local priorities - 'You said, We did'
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
You said: Criminal activity and anti-social behviour (ASB)
You said there was a problem with ASB and criminal activity at 130 Abbott Road.
We have worked with South Oxfordshire District Council and issued a community protection notice. We have worked with the letting agent who has now issued an eviction order and we have also placed a three month closure order. As a result we have had no more reports about 130 Abbott Road and we are working on closing down further premises in Didcot that are causing issues to the community.
You said: Parking
You said that there was a problem with parking along the Broadway. Works vehicles were parking illegally and inconsiderately.
The neighbourhood team contacted the repeat offending companies whose employees were parking there to give them advice. We have also issued a number of parking tickets and since then we have seen a dramatic decrease in the number of parking reports.
You said: Anti-social behaviour (ASB)
You said that there was a problem with ASB at the Orchard Centre, Didcot
Police have conducted intelligence led patrols and taken a zero tolerance to any criminal activity. Suspects have been convicted and ASB contracts have been given out to repeat offenders along with banning letters. We are pleased to report that since we have taken these proactive steps to reduce the ASB the number of offences have decreased. We are continuing to work with the stores to further decrease and deter offences.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
