Local priorities - 'You said, We did'

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  • You said: Inconsiderate Parking in Earley

    There is inconsiderate parking in many residential roads in the Earley area.

    We did:
    We have begun to hand out flyers outlining illegal parking, as a first step in improving this issue. Failing this, Fixed Penalty Notices will be handed out in the area.

  • You said: Anti-social riding of mopeds and motorcycles

    Mopeds and motorcycles were being driven anti-socially in the area. They have been seen to be driving along footpaths and underpasses near to Chalfont Park.

    We did:
    We have increased patrols by members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team in the area and will deal robustly with anyone riding in an anti-social manner.

  • You said: Unsafe parking at schools in the area

    We have received a string of reports of unsafe parking around schools in the area.

    We did:
    The team have put a large amount of time into patrolling the schools in the area, after we had a string of reports of unsafe parking. We have seen an improvement in parking around schools during the morning drop off and afternoon pick up times. We would like to reiterate, these traffic regulations are in place to keep your children safe, and to avoid accidents occurring due to cars parking inappropriately and inconsiderately.

  • You said: Inconsiderate Parking in Residential Roads

    We have had numerous calls regarding inconsiderate parking in many residential roads in the Earley area

    We did:
    As some of you may have seen, we have begun to hand out flyers outlining illegal parking, as a first step in improving this issue. Failing this, Fixed Penalty Notices will be handed out in the area.

  • You said: Parking issues

    Parking issues in Finch and Kenton Roads

    We did:
    We performed high visibility patrols and offenders were issued with tickets

  • You said: Antisocial Behaviour, begging in Earley

    Anti-social behaviour by aggressive beggars in Earley

    We did:
    Working with the local shops and community we identified the individuals and used our powers to prevent further offences while offering support through other partners.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
