Local priorities - 'You said, We did'

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  • You said: ASB in The Junipers Play Park

There were youths behaving antisocially in The Junipers Play Park, Barkham and vehicles congregating in the road with occupants being noisy.

    We did:
Increased patrols in the area and engaged with youths in the vehicles.

  • You said: Parking at Coombes School

    Parking issues at Coombes School

    We did:
We attended the school and our presence deterred a number of parents from waiting in the drop off zone; however it didn’t prevent a few from parking in the No Waiting Zone putting other children and parents at risk and therefore risking a parking fine. Two members of staff and a further professional along with a number of members of the public were spoken to and decided to move their vehicles rather than risk being given a ticket or reported for the offences. We are taking a proactive response to ensure the movement of traffic continues to flow along School Road reducing the risk of injury or death to any person. We are working alongside The Coombes School and will continue to monitor the situation.

  • You said: Wildlife Crime

Concerns a developer was using large machinery to prepare land next to a pond recorded as a Great Crested Newts breeding pond

    We did:
We made enquiries with Amphibian and Reptile Conservationists, Natural England, Environmental Agency and local Borough Council. We are currently undertaking further enquiries with Natural England and further surveys regarding up to date figures of newts within the pond.

  • You said: Speeding

Speeding in Riseley - New 30 mph zone

    We did:
The Neighbourhood team performed enforcement operations using a hand held speed indication device (SID) along with Roads Policing to enforce the speed limit. A large number of speeding tickets were issued.

  • You said: Burglaries

    Burglaries in Spencers Wood

    We did:
The Neighbourhood Team held several public meetings to highlight the issue to the local residents, did crime prevention leaflet drops and performed several high visibility patrols in the area including the Mounted Police Section.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
