Aylesbury East neighbourhood
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
- Burglary – This month burglary will remain our priority due to it still being a concern in the community. Thankfully there have been no burglary dwellings last month which is fantastic but due to the amount we have had in the past as well as the continued public concern around this, it will be remaining a priority for us. Make sure if you are going out that all windows and doors are secure and if you are going away ask a neighbour to look after your property or invest in timed light switches to give the appearance of someone being home.
- Burglary non-dwelling – Last month there were no burglary non dwellings on Aylesbury East. This is great news as this is a decrease again from last month’s total. As with burglary this will remain a priority due to the amount we have had in the past few months as well as public concern and interest. If you have a shed or outbuilding/ garage please invest in some decent security such as a good lock or a shed/garage alarm.
- Theft from vehicle – Last month there were 3 thefts from motor vehicle offences. This is one more than December but this is still a large improvement on previous months. Please remember that if you are leaving your vehicle that it is important to take your valuables with you to keep them safe. If this is not an option then please ensure the property is hidden. Taxi drivers need to remember also to take out their money and paperwork. Avoid parking down small or dark roads such as service roads or small lanes in the more rural areas as this makes them an easy target.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
