Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Watermead – It has been a very quiet month across Watermead.  There have been no theft related offences at all which means no burglary and no theft from motor vehicles. This is an excellent result and reflects the fact that Watermead continues to be one of the safest areas to live within Aylesbury.  This result may also be linked to the recent security work conducted at the disused football stadium.  Despite the building being sealed up, a number of homeless persons managed to exploit a weakness and gain entry.  We have raised this issue and the building is now secure, hopefully permanently!
  2. Elmhurst – The issue of individuals riding mini-motos in and around Alfred Rose Park continues.  It is suspected that those riding the bikes may also be responsible for setting bins on fire and as such, the police will conduct increased activity within the area to apprehend the rider.  Where evidence allows, the rider can expect to be investigated for dangerous driving – this offence can be committed within the park.  If a conviction follows, the rider can also expect this to be reflected upon their drivers licence – even if they are too young to hold one.  Anybody thinking of riding a mini moto in a dangerous manner should consider this and only ride the bikes in authorised locations – in a safe manner. Fireworks have also been a problem in the park. If you see any anti social behaviour (ASB) with fireworks or mini-motos please call 101.
  3. Buckingham Park - Over the past few weeks, there have been very few reports of ASB within the Buckingham Park area. Our officers will continue to patrol and respond to any requests for assistance.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
