Buckingham and District neighbourhood
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
- Drug usage - The use of illegal drugs continues to cause the local Neighbourhood Police Team a great deal of concern. We have received a number of calls concerning the supply and use of a variety of known and relatively new substances that are currently available in the area and surrounding villages.
- Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB / Noise). - ASB patrols are regularly conducted in areas identified by residents, especially around the weekends. The town officers are actively seeking to disrupt groups in the Skate Park, Candleford Court and town centre who appear to be causing some issues for residents and traders during the evenings. The team is also aware of historical locations within the town centre and outskirts that has been susceptible to ASB and will be patrolling these areas. If you have any information please conduct us on 101.
- Burglary to dwellings - There has been a recent rise in burglaries within the Buckingham town centre area. The offenders have been targeting anything from electrical items, push bikes to motor vehicles. Whilst Thames Valley Police continue to investigate these occurrences the local team are attempting to gather as much information from local residents in relation to handlers of stolen goods and those responsible for the original offence of burglary.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
