Buckingham and District neighbourhood
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
- Drug Usage - The issue of drug supply and use within Buckingham and surrounding villages continues to be the team’s top priority. Drug use is becoming all too common amongst groups of various ages within Buckingham and surrounding areas, the team have continued to disrupt drug dealing in the town, and surrounding villages. The short and long term use can have serious detrimental effects on those using controlled substances as well as those around them, particularly family members.
- Burglary to dwellings - Burglary to people’s homes remains one of the team’s top priorities and continued patrols are conducted by both members of the Buckingham District Neighbourhood Team and response officers from the area. Thefts from the home are currently low but we have had a rise of quad bike thefts and tractors from local farms and outbuildings. At this time of year farm equipment is much more accessible due to the nature of farming etc. Please be vigilant, try to lock or block access points when not in use, try not to leave valuable equipment in fields overnight as historically diesel thefts have been reported.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
