Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

1. Burglary dwelling - This month saw a slight change in the priorities for the team, with burglary dwellings taking the place of theft from motor vehicles. We had a small series of burglaries in the Grendon Underwood/Springhill area at the end of October. In response to this the area was placed as a tasking for all the reactive units on the LPA to patrol. The team here at Waddesdon conducted a leaflet drop in the areas of the offences to make local residents aware of the problem and to be vigilant. We delivered crime prevention advice to the whole of Springhill. On the Operation Arctic Day of Action the team were out in force in Marsh Gibbon, burglary prevention advice was given to the whole village, as well as giving out segment timers to vulnerable residents.

2. Burglary non dwelling - remains at the moment, as we have seen 4 in the last month in Haddenham/Long Crendon and 2 in Waddesdon area. Whilst this is still a reduction on the same period last year we ask that you remain vigilant and lock outbuildings and garages. The team are more than happy to make an appointment to come and mark your tools to deter criminals from stealing them and make them harder to sell on if they are stolen.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
