Local priorities
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
- Rural Crime. Rural crime remains an issue in some of our communities due to the very isolated locations within our area. Theft of oil, farm machinery and horse tack are some issues being reported. We will work together with our rural communities and farmers to put a stop to these crimes which have a major impact on the victims.
- Theft of Metal. Throughout the Bicester Rural area we will be looking to reduce thefts of metal which are on the increase due to the rise in the price of metal.
- Burglary Dwellings. We will be focusing on reducing burglaries to dwellings in the area by providing crime prevention advice to ensure that people’s homes do not become targets. We will be conducting high visibility patrols in problem areas.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
