Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Anti-Social Behaviour
Maintain and where possible increase patrols around identified hotspots
-Make full use of the new anti social behaviour legislation
-Continue to use where necessary dispersal powers
  2. Traffic offences (speeding and parking)
-Continue to make use of speed surveys in order to direct speed enforcement
-Maintain and where possible increase patrols around schools in our area to address anti social parking in particular unnecessary obstructions
-Support a continuing scheme of education before enforcement
  3. Theft (shoplifting and bike theft)
Maintain and where possible increase patrols around the Templar’s Shopping Centre and John Allen Centre
-Continue our work around attending all instances of bike theft to obtain chassis numbers
-Continue our bike check operations in the area to enforce not only the need for bikes to have lights but to check the chassis numbers against our stolen database

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
