Robbery witness appeal - Oxford

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a robbery in the Marston area of Oxford yesterday (17/9).

At about 6.30pm, a 14-year-old boy was walking along Mortimer Drive with a friend, when he was approached by two black youths.

One of the youths threatened the boy with a plank of wood, before making him hand over a silver bracelet he was wearing.

Both youths were thought to be aged between 16 and 17 and about 5ft 11ins. The youth carrying the plank of wood had stubble around his mouth, very short, cropped hair and a round-shaped faced. He was wearing a dark jumper and dark Nike tracksuit bottoms.

The second youth also had short, cropped hair, a round-shaped faced and a large gap between his front teeth. He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top with a white line across the arms and dark-coloured tracksuit bottoms with a white line down the leg.

Det Sgt Matt Jarman said: “We understand that there may have also been some altercation between these two and a man and woman further along the road. We are keen to speak to these people.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time the robbery took place, or who saw people matching the description of the offenders in the area.”
