  Superintendent Richard Humphrey

  Local Policing Area commander - Slough

  Superintendent Richard Humphrey has been the commander for Slough Local Police Area (LPA) since April 2010. Richard transferred to Thames Valley Police from Hertfordshire Constabulary in October 2009, on promotion to Superintendent. His policing career began in 1987 in Hertford where he learned the value and importance of Neighbourhood Policing. Richard rose to the rank of Detective Chief Inspector, enjoying a number of specialist roles at all ranks largely focused on serious and organised crime, covert policing and intelligence. He worked closely with regional colleagues in the East in developing the regional intelligence and proactive policing structures. On joining Thames Valley Police, Richard worked with Crime Support until taking up command of Slough LPA.
