Local priorities - 'You said, We did'

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  • You said: Speeding

Residents have expressed concerns around motorists speeding in residential areas and many also being used as 'Rat Runs' or short cuts.

    We did:
To help in these situations we have worked closely with our Highways department and the local Community wardens. We have now set up 20 Speed Watch operations across the neighbourhood, not only to monitor traffic but to stop motorists speeding through these residential areas. We also worked alongside our Neighbourhood Action Groups (NAGS) and local Parish Councils to problem solve the issues using local expertise and involvement.

  • You said: Burglary

The local community expressed concerns about a spate of burglaries in the area recently.

    We did:
Working with our partner agencythe Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Community wardens, we organised three Burglary Roadshows across the neighbourhood. Crime prevention information and advice was provided to residents in the surrounding areas of a burglary location to prevent their homes becoming a target.

  • You said: Residential streets being used as ‘Rat Runs’.

The Community expressed concerns around residential streets being used as ‘Rat Runs’.

    We did:
    1. Working alongside the RBWM Highways Department, RBWM Community Wardens and local residents we organised twenty ‘Community Speedwatch’ operations across the Neighbourhood. 2. We worked alongside our local Neighbourhood Action groups (NAGs) and Parish Councils, to problem solve the issues using local expertise and involvement.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
