Kintbury neighbourhood update
Update for February
Here is the latest neighbourhood update for Kintbury from Neighbourhood Specialist Officer, PC Claire Drewitt:
We hope everybody coped with the weather conditions in the first couple of weeks of this month; it was certainly difficult at times.
We have been working on the burglary priority and as the weather warms up will be looking to hold some meetings where we can invite the public to come along and obtain crime reduction advice and meet the local team.
If you would like a home crime prevention visit in the mean time please ring in and one of our Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) can arrange to come and visit you.
Aaron Morley, 21 of Craven Close, Kintbury has been convicted for the series of burglaries in the Kintbury area and is now serving a prison sentence. He was working with Damien Hall, 26 also from Craven Close, Kintbury, has been charged and remanded over the same series.
The Hungerford neighbourhood team have received no reports of house burglaries in the Kintbury area during January.
In support of the local priority of speeding in Hamstead Marshall, we undertook a Speed Indication Device (SID) operation in the village. It was disappointing to see excessive speeds being recorded. Along with Hamstead Marshall Community Speed Watchwe will be sending out letters to those identified as speeding advising them of the risks and dangers. We have also run a Speed Enforcement Operation with the laser speed gun in the village and two drivers were given strong words of advice about their speed.
In Wickham we will be undertaking a laser speed gun operation during this coming month to support the village and the 40 mph limit, which is also a local priority.
One youth has been arrested for criminal damage in the village; we will keep you posted on the outcome of this. Anti-social behaviour (ASB) is at about the same level for December as it was for the previous year. It is however still low and the overall trend is still going in the right direction.
We will be holding a street meeting in Queens Way and Craven Way in Kintbury on Sunday 14 February from 6.30pm. Please come along with any issues or concerns you may have.
Hungerford neighbourhood team attended Hungerford pubwatch meeting this month and we are pleased to report that there are were no issues raised. If you are a new licensee in the Hungerford or Kintbury area and interested in joining pubwatch then please contact Hungerford policing team for further information.
If you have any information on the above or would like to speak to a member of the team, please contact us via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505 or call in to Hungerford police station Monday – Friday between 9am – 1pm.
