Falcon
Falcon has been part of operational policing in Buckinghamshire since 2006 and involves Thames Valley Police and agencies such as Buckinghamshire County Council, the four district councils, the Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) and the charity Crimestoppers.
It aims to make Buckinghamshire Basic Command Unit (BCU) a more difficult place for drug dealers to operate, reduce acquisitive crime and drug-related violence.
It is a joined-up approach, incorporating everything from intelligence and enforcement to education and treatment for prolific problem users. Falcon helps police to get a better understanding of the drug/crime markets operating across our BCU and the threat posed by cross-border criminals.
Treatment
Susie Yapp, Bucks Drug and Alcohol Action Team general manager, said: “The DAAT seeks to actively engage all problem drug users in effective treatment.
“By commissioning a range of treatments to meet the differing needs of drug users - at one end working in the custody suite at the point of arrest, through to providing support and advice, substitute prescribing, structured day care, counselling and access to inpatient and residential treatment - the DAAT aims to support a reduction in drug-related crime by providing effective alternatives to drug use.”
Services are available from locations across the county and information is available by calling 0800 032 0666. For more information, visit the Drug and Alcohol Action Team website (opens new window).
