Milton Keynes control strategy
The main focus of the Milton Keynes Basic Command Unit control strategy is on:
- Predatory offending and vulnerable people. This includes identifying and reducing the risk of ‘honour-based’ violence, reducing the risk to vulnerable missing persons and reducing the harm caused by serious sexual assault.
- Organised crime groups who cause serious harm.
- Burglary, vehicle crime and robbery. This includes identifying and targeting prolific offenders, reducing opportunities for offending through crime advice and Force campaigns, and targeting offenders involved in the organised theft of number plates.
- Violence resulting in wounding/injury, particularly knife crime and alcohol-related violence. This includes tackling knife issues by developing youth forums, undertaking proactive search arch operations to combat the carrying of knives, reviewing licensed premises and targeting any problem premises.
- Reducing the threat from terrorism.
- Creating safer neighbourhoods by targeting those areas with high levels of crime and anti-social behaviour, and identifying and targeting locations and offenders responsible for arsons.
