Denbigh / The Leys neighbourhood
Local priorities
After consultation with the communities in the neighbourhood, the following priorities were identified:
- Anti-social behaviour. Young people drink alcohol around the Westminster Drive playground and Melrose shops creating noise, some ride mini-motos on the park.
- Speeding along Whaddon Way between Melrose to Watling Street, Westminster Drive, Sutherland Grove, Barleyhurst and Kinross Drive, Angus Drive, Melrose and Cleeve Crescent.
- Drugs activity has been noticed in the park near Buckfast Avenue, the garages on Essex Close and in the square of Cleeve Crescent.
Neighbourhood Action Group
These issues are now being tackled by the Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) made up of local residents and partner organisations.
