Local priorities

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  1. Anti-social behaviour. Some young people on the Langley High Street cause criminal damage and distress the public. There is damage to garage blocks on Cheviot Road; some of the youths take cardboard from the recycling bin area on James Meadow and use it to slide down the hill but then don’t return the cardboard to the bin.
  2. Drug dealing and usage around the Common Road areas. There are reports of suspicious activity including anti-social behaviour. Individuals dealing drugs invite visitors who are not from the area.
  3. Perceived speeding on Common Road, James Meadow, Sutton Lane and Parlaunt Road. Residents have requested for speeding operations to take place to deter the offenders. This is a short term priority that may lead to the occasional speeding operations in the future without this being a continued priority.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
