The Burghfield neighbourhood team visited two local schools last week to present prizes for an art competition.
Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) Steve Innes and Robert Hubbard-Clark attended Garland School, Clayhill Road, Burghfield Common, on Wednesday (10/2), and Sulhamstead and Ufton Nervet C.E. Primary School on Friday (12/2).
The theme for the art competition was the role of the neighbourhood officers within the community and both schools were presented with ‘Toys R Us’ vouchers and certificates.
PCSO Steve Innes said: “I have been delighted with the quality of the entries from our local schools. The pupils were asked to produce artwork and poetry illustrating the day to day work of their community officers.
“The children have shown great creativity in their artwork and have also produced some very amusing poetry. It has been a very successful competition that involved six local schools. It has demonstrated that they now have a much better understanding of the work we do in the community, which was a key aspect of the competition. “
