Bicester Town neighbourhood
Local priorities
After consultation with the communities in the neighbourhood, the following priorities were identified:
- Litter. Residents are annoyed about the amount of litter visible on the streets and in parks and other public locations, particularly Bure Park and Pingle Fields.
- Parking. Shoppers are concerned as they cannot use the Market Square short-stay parking due to commuter traffic. In the town centre, residents cannot always park by their houses because of commuters parking.
- Cycling on pavements. Cycling is banned in Sheep Street but this is sometimes ignored, particularly when school pupils are going home leading to concern that accidents will occur between pedestrians and cyclists.
Neighbourhood Action Group
These issues are now being tackled by the Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) made up of local residents and partner organisations.
